What Is Cryosurgery?
Cryosurgery is a treatment that uses liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy abnormal skin cells. It is commonly used for precancerous lesions such as actinic keratoses, as well as certain benign growths and warts.
What to Expect
Cryosurgery is typically performed in the office and takes only a few moments per lesion. Treated areas may blister or scab before healing over the following days to weeks. Sutures are not required.
